About the Shot
Issac Levinson, dropping the 69ft Mamquam falls, Squamish, BC. The waterfall does not see many descents these days due to a hydro project which diverts the flow around the section of river, the fall tends to run dry or quite often flood stage high when the diversion is not operational.
The falls require a fairly crucial flow to make for a safe descent, too much water and huge boils can force a paddler into caves upon the lookers right, too low a flow and a hard landing could break backs or ribs on landing. A spring window this year saw perfect flow combined with stunning early morning light, I felt lucky to finally witness this moment come together.
